Your business, online
Every Launchpad product opens at $5 a month, because the only way to find out whether customers buy from you is to put something real in front of them.
The entry tier is not a trial and not a demo. It is the whole shop, priced so that testing the idea costs almost nothing.
A complete storefront on your own domain, with your logo and colours, real products loaded, and every payment method switched on.
Put it in front of people. Within a month you will know whether they buy, which is the only question that matters at this stage.
Move up when the entry tier is the thing holding you back, not before. If it never is, stay where you are.
Upgrading changes your plan, not your storefront. Your site, your products and your clients stay exactly as they are.
If you are not a developer, the honest comparison is not feature against feature. It is what you would have to spend to end up with the same thing.
| Item | Build it yourself | Watu Launchpad |
|---|---|---|
| To build it | Surveys of software firms put a custom commerce platform at $3,000 to $120,000, and e-commerce builds specifically at $40,000 to $250,000 and up. | $0. It is already built. |
| One developer, per month | $1,800 to $11,300, depending on where you hire. This is usually the largest line by a distance. | Included. |
| Monthly to run | Hosting, a billing and provisioning platform licence, a domain and certificates, on top of the developer. | $5, or $50 for the full tier. Nothing else. |
| Time to your first sale | Weeks to months, and you are the one debugging it when it breaks. | Set up in minutes. Then the work is finding customers. |
| Who fixes it at 2am | You, or a developer you are paying to be available. | We do. Running it is our job, not yours. |
| Products to sell | You negotiate every supplier relationship yourself before you can sell anything. | A catalogue of premium products, ready to sell on day one. |
Figures are published survey ranges and wage medians captured in September 2026, not quotes for any one product. Developer cost is given as a range because it varies enormously by market, and the sources below let you place yourself in it.

You are using our platform rather than owning one, so you are not free to rebuild it however you like, and new capabilities arrive on our roadmap rather than yours. In exchange you skip the build, the hosting, the maintenance and the supplier negotiations entirely. If owning the codebase is the point for you, build your own. If selling is the point, this is faster by a wide margin.
Including the awkward ones.
$5 a month on the entry tier, $50 on the full one. That is the whole subscription. There is no setup fee, and we do not take a cut of your sales.
What is not included, so you are not surprised: the payment processor takes its own fee on each sale and that goes to them, not us. A domain name costs whatever your registrar charges, if you want one instead of the free subdomain. And anything in the catalogue you buy for your own use rather than resell is priced normally.
Your storefront is created automatically once your payment clears, and setting it up is filling in a form rather than running a project. Nobody has to schedule anything with you.
The part that takes longer is the part we cannot do for you: finding your first customer. We can hand you a working shop by this afternoon. We cannot hand you buyers.
Yes. Here is what you can check rather than take on trust: the demo storefront is live and browsable right now, with no signup, and you can request admin access to see the back office. The catalogue is real, named products, Google Workspace and the rest, not placeholders.
What we are not going to do is show you invented revenue screenshots. Anyone can produce those. We would rather you check the demo yourself and judge the product.
Usually that story ends one of two ways. Either the technology quietly became your second job, or the thing you bought was a course that sold you a plan and no product.
We run the infrastructure, so the first failure is not yours to carry. There is no stack for you to maintain, patch or debug. And what you are buying is a working storefront with real products in it, not training.
The part that is still on you, and we are not going to pretend otherwise: you have to find the customers. What we give you is something real to sell them.
